Keep the .257 Roberts as is, get the 700 barrel reamed to .30-06 if there's enough to work with. Otherwise, get a new barrel installed chambered in .30-06 and take full advantage of that long action.

i have the same raging rifle looney disease as the rest of you.

right now i have:

mauser 257 roberts
remington long action .243 (got a hell of a deal on the action)

i deer hunt with a bow almost exclusively due to ohio's laws sucking muchly. i also love to bowhunt.

i am eventually going to go do more big game hunting with a rifle but maybe not for a while.

think the .243 will do it all? keep the bow and buy a varmint rifle instead?

entertain and enlighten me smile

Keep the bow and the .257 Rbts, sell the .243. The Roberts will do everything the .243 will do and a little bit more.

If that were true then we'd be using slingshots. Can't get worked up over elastic surgical tubing the way I do over blued CM and finely figured walnut. Imagine being called a slingshot looney...yuck. 'jus sayin Homesteader

Don't sell either rifle. Instead, check out Dave Ramsey dot com.
