Bear update. The bear at the Wausau courthouse made it into the parking garage where it was tranquilized and relocated.
Did they shoot him in his bear ass?

Did they shoot him in his bear ass? More than likely. You getting all this rain?

GS got to try one out the week before and told me it didn't kick any worse than his 410. When he said that I told his dad to forget about a 243. Son said he already had.

too bad, the .243's lethality is amazing. I am and always will be a big fan.

243 is fine for deer and antelope, but elk are a real possibility for this kid. 7mm-08 much better choice with elk on the menu.

Perfect time for it to get put on. Especially if they compacted it. Hopefully they'll stay off of it for a day til it dries out. Be a good solid pad then.

sized (screened I suppose)to a spec and mixed with a percentage of clay as binder. I think it's maybe between 5 and 10% Tom probably knows. Around 7%? Hell I dunno. It's like, engineered gravel.

That puts it in the "no brainer" category.

Any idea how accurate it is? Ruger used a number of different barrel manufacturers for the old 77's. Some great, others not so much.

Nothing wrong with a tang safety ruger. I free floated and bed the action on one for a guy many years ago. I cant remember for certain but I want to say it was a 7mm mag.
The angled recoil lug had me nervous, but it popped out very nicely when it was time to crack it loose for cleanup. Turned out really nice.
