I've got a minty Rem 760A in .35 Rem, 1960 vintage. I'm in the process of trying to put a sling on it without drilling it. I've got a Levergun Leather buttstock cover on it, and I ordered an ADL action tube cap from Numrich that is factory drilled for a sling swivel. I even had that super rare ADL swivel screw made by a gunsmith.
However, I can't get the dang pin out that holds the original action tube cap in place. I've taken down my other 2 760s no problem. I'm reluctant to go beating on it because I don't want to flatten the action tube. It should be a one-way pin if it's like the others, but it's nearly impossible to tell which direction it should go. Can't imagine this being any different than the other 2 760s I own...it's identical. Any thoughts?
