2 weeks ago, we went on a work "retreat" to my bosses shore house in Wildwood NJ. Set a few crab traps out at the dock, and caught a decent number of crabs that we cooked the day we left. I always steamed the whole crab, but she showed me how to clean them first...not very difficult, and I think it gets the flavor into the meat better.

Well, we had some left overs, and I brought about 3 whole crabs home. The next day, I decided to cook up some venison butterfly chops to rare, with some spices thrown in (I really didn't pay attention...if it sounded good, it went in).

I then let the chops rest for a few moments before I cut it up nice and small. The next step required the meat from all 3 crabs and the chops thrown into a bowl, and 6 eggs scrambled over the whole thing. I then threw in some freshed shredded Pepperjack cheese, some Old Bay, and some S&P into the mix.

Fried that up, and it was amazing. Never done it before, but I will DEFINITELY do it again. It was breakfast and lunch that day. And I still had some left over...

I'd rather have a bad day hunting than a good day working!

Back in the good ol days when I was a kid spending summers at Nags Head, mom would often get me up very early to go catch a mess of spot in the surf. She would scale and clean them as I caught them.
Fresh spot rolled in cornbread and panfried with eggs is hard to beat!
