so i wanted to test the .375 aussie custom projectiles out of a .378wby, heath that works for me and a good mate of mine also wanted to try his new 378wby, so the plan was hatched. We picked up lenny my father in law, left brisbane at about 9am and by midnight had rolled the 14ookm to our mate denos place. Deno had two bulls he wanted shot so we were happy to use them as test media. Whilst there we decided to look for some pigs and dogs as well but the conditions were just f%^&ed. the wind blew hard enough to pull a dog off his chain and i think the temp dropped to about 10c at night so it was fugging cold.

anyhow here is a few pics from denos place.

the shot was taken from just over 100m using the 285gr acp (aussie custom projectile) he was going away from heath and we recovered the bullet under the skin on the front side of the opposite shoulder after it had smashed the knuckle. the bull went no where

this is the entry after i pulled the skin back

anyhow, we caught some pigs with the dogs then on the way home dropped in at a mates place and got some more, but all in all i was really happy with the bullet and how it performed at those impact velocities. i have tested a heap on buffalo etc as well but with conventional calibre's, its nice to see them hold together in the faster stuff as well

so after 3000 odd km in 4 days i think it was worth the effort

battered thanks for posting. Those 375's make some big holes! That's some serious damage, and goes to show why 375's work so well.

That's a graphic illustration on a big ,heavy animal,of what a good, tough bullet of 375 caliber,at high velocity will do to heavy game. You won't see that stuff from any 30 caliber or smaller. The 375 is a solid notch up from the smaller stuff IMO.

What are these bullets? Like your homegrown X or mono?

Is that someone's fist in the entrance hole?

My own design yes, starting to get a big following though and have had to take it more seriously now, as I'm sending them to about 20 countries

Excellent and very interesting. I like the expanded petals retained that broad frontal area under severe stress.

How did the rest of the wound channel look?

How do those bullets do at standard 375 H&H velocities?
