There has been a lot of talk about the Remington Thunderbolt 22lr ammo. As many people have stated, its not very consistent, etc. But I have personally had pretty good luck with it in my bolt gun's and ruger single action revolvers. For me its fine for plinking and with a little modification I've had great success with them for small game. Here are a few videos I took while shooting spinners at 100yds. My camera only has a 3 second burst when shooting in slow motion. http://youtu.be/0KOBWWaRejM 22lr Remington Thunderbolt vs 3 spinner 100yds http://youtu.be/emVbv7eG1m4 22lr Remington Thunderbolt vs 2 spinner 100yds Good Hunting Harpy I use the 60gr Aguila and CCIMM's for the small stuff

How has it worked for you in semi auto rifles and pistols??
I try to stick with the basics, they do so well. Nothing fancy mind you, just plain jane will get it done with style. You want to see an animal drop right now? Shoot him in the ear hole. BSA MAGA

Bsa , It has not been as reliable as I would like in my semi-autos, but I have shot quite a bit of it when plinking.

Thanks harpy. The thunderbolts are what I'm seeing locally. I have a few thousand various 22LR rounds left. I was just hoping the new improved Remington 22lr ammo was a little better than it used to be. Looks like it works good enough in the bolt actions...

Funny how times change. Ten years ago if I was in Basspro and saw a brick of Rem Thunderbolts for sale would have just walked pass it. NOT Today ... now I would be on those Thunderbolts like a Rottweiler on a big steak bone.

hmmph .... I still walk by Thunderbolts whenever and where ever I see them. Probably need two more years of this crap before I need to consider buying Thunderturds.

LOL! My son hates the stuff. In his 10/22, the powder sprays all over his face almost every shot. It doesn't seem to be a problem with other ammo. If we have to, we use it in the Henry lever actions, Rossi pump or Single-Six revolver.

Thunderbolts vary quite a bit from lot to lot. A bad lot is junk with lots of duds and squibs. A good lot can be fairly decent ammo. I just recently ran a brick of it through my old Marlin 989M2 semi-auto without a single misfire or malfunction. What's more it was decently accurate for HV ammo consistently printing 7 shot groups that hovered right around an inch at 50 yards.

I have shot a fair amount of Thunderbolts in a 541T and a Ruger 10/22. Never a dud or squib. In the 541 at 32 yards they will print 3 shots in one small hole. I shoot gophers, English sparrows and starlings with them out of my 541T with misses being rare. Shots are mostly 35 yards and under though. I'm not saying they are a match grade quality, but have performed well for me.
