In an 8-1 decision, the court ruled against the Obama administration.

This is as it should be. It's a good day. Indeed.. At the same time, the decision shocks the hell outta me - considering many of their decisions in other, previous matters.. Hard to believe in some ways - but they got this one right, in spades.

Wonder which Justice was the lone dissenting vote? Not sure there was. the link the OP provided say 8-1 decision but this one says 9-0 as do a couple of others I looked at. http://www.cnn.com/2014/06/25/justice/supreme-court-cell-phones/index.htmlSo which is it? That's a no brainer decision that almost everybody is gonna like. The people getting their phones seized in anticipation of getting a warrant later are the only people that I can imagine being upset.

I think it shows that the members of the court have something in common with most Americans; they own cellphones. I don't have much hope for the fed/gov to be reeled in by this as they operate above the law.
