Pretty lake, I used to love high lake fishing in the Rockies. I hiked in to a lake in June to fish and there was 6 feet of ice still on it! Great looking country there.

Got two PM's asking about the camera so I thought some others might be interested.
I am a complete camera dunce, so I called Doug @ Cameraland. I told him what I needed (idiot proof, waterproof, able to take action burst photos for skiing)
He suggested this Pentax Optio W10 and sent me a great package of case, 1 gig mem card, reader, spare battery, for less than I would have paid @ Costco. (Plus he could tell me what I needed and didn't need)
Coundn't be happier so far.

When it comes to choosing friends....I'm at an age where I'd rather have 4 quarters than 100 pennies.

The Optio is a very good camera. I have the S40 model, not waterproof but has stood up to what I seem to have dished out to it. Also from Camera Land.

What is the lake? I'm not sure what the Sierra Crest is...kind of looks a little like Silver Lake.
Speaking of the Sierra, I just drew D3-D5 again, struck out on the X zones

JimF,
Does that lake have Golden Trout in it? I have always wanted to get up in there for Goldens. With my boy's sports schedule it might be a few years.

Mark:
This lake is waaay too low for Goldens. The whole basin varies from maybe 6,000 to just over 7,000. I have a golden trout trip planned for the way backcountry of Desolation Wilderness. I'm thinkin at least 3 weeks before the snow is down enough to allow access.
