I am getting really serious about calling Doug to send me the aforementioned binocular. Anyone had experience with these yet?

Price is right at $499 or so if it is truly hd glass.
I picked up a pair of non-hd BL10x44 BR for the kid ($199 from Doug) a few years ago and the kid really likes those bincs...

I have been comparing those BLs with some of the newer Steiners. I have had a set of Steiner Merlin 10x42 for about 10 years and they work great. They are getting worn and I was thinking about replacing them with a set of the new "Tactical 10x42 "R" binos. After looking through the Minox BLs and the Tactical Steiners, I will save a few hundred dollars and buy the Minox. I was hoping to pick up a set of Zeiss Conquest 10x42 HDs but cannot afford them this year.
