I really question your critical thinking skills. There are some dots you seem either unwilling or unable to connect.

Really? Glock "gunsmith"? And you question my "critical thinking skills"?
Oh I'm sorry...Must I use the term Certified Glock Armorer when speaking of Glocks?

Are you really that childish?

Could it be because you interjected a bunch of "buy a Glock" bullshit in a thread about 1911's? Might that have something to do with it?

Yeah, I saw that line coming form a mile out (seems to be a favorite line with you).

So not only do you not know what you're talking about, and have to poach your thoughts from someone else, even your smart arse comments are poached from someone else.

I really like the looks of the Dan Wesson/CZs...

I recently acquired the Dan Wesson Guardian and am VERY pleased so far. It's pricier than what he's looking for, though.

TAK really your not a pistolsmith? We would have never figured that one out without you telling us.

I have two factory Colts that have somewhere north of 10K rounds. The only parts I have changed are grips, safety, and mainspring housing. None of which as you know effects accuracy or reliability.

My Smith & Wesson E-series is totally original and has somewhere north of 5K rounds.

My STI Trojan had 6K rounds and totally original. Sold it to my buddy and it is still all original and I am guessing at least another 6k rounds down the pipe.

None of those round counts is high compared to someone competing but they are higher then your average Joe's round count. So its pretty safe to say for the average Joe a $1K 1911 will do them just fine.

I also shoot plastic guns and would recommend the ones I like to someone looking for one. The OP was not looking for that so I did not offer my opinion on that. So lets talk plastic!

Glocks are great if you like the feel. M&P's are great as well and I much prefer them to the Glock. But as you so slam the 1911 "needing work" right out of the box, so does the Glock or M&P. Your hero Larry offers replacement parts for the Glock, why is that, when as you state they are so great? But back to the average Joe again he most likely isn't going to buy these parts or have grip stippling done.

Just exactly what does a Glock or M&P require, "out of the box"?

By TAK's logic. My 500 dollar Taurus 1911 should have fallen apart in my hands. I've put close to 4 thousand rounds through it and it still goes bang.. To be fair I had to replace the hammer after i dropped it off a ledge

I am? Seems those are the rules you were playing by with the 1911 and your top five smiths. Pick the game you want to play and the rules that suit you best but stick to them.
