Well Everything is now in the hands of the CPA rifle Co.
I finally got the barrel from the Oregon gun works. It's a .438 bore/.446 groove 1.260" at the breach and 1.015" at the muzzle 34.5" long. It has enough iron to get a fine 1.250X1X32" finish.
It has a 6 land 1/16 ROT. And it will also have a 28" Douglas premium interchangeable .22 rimfire barrel of the same contour for the .22 rimfire matches and off hand practice to come with it.
Got the barrel and reamer send off this morning and had a chat with Gail for the final order.
Now the wait begins!! I asked, will it be ready for the Raton Nationals?? She said maybe Tongue
When I ordered the chamber reamer I also ordered a case sizing die reamer and I made two sizing dies in my shop to form the brass to match this chamber.
The chamber will only except a PP bullet and it will have a very flat 4 degree/1.5 degree compound lead that is very close to the original chamber.
