Bought the Savage model 11 trophy XP in .223 with a nikon scope from Davidsons. Hey its a lefty right? Bottom line; Decent accuracy though not the tack driver my RR AR-15 is. I've only shot one load through it so my guess is it will improve when I find what it likes.

The trigger takes a little getting used to and I will need to adjust it which - in the instructions seems fairly straightforward. I'm not happy at all about the plastic trigger guard- really Savage, you couldn't put a steel trigger guard on that? I have one on order...

The plastic stock is as basic as it gets- which will probably be fine for me as this is a beater varmint gun.

Scope is OK...perfect for my needs.

Overall, I'm pleased/ happy but not ecstatic...a good functional rifle with good accuracy. It was about $250 cheaper than comparable Tikka...but then the scope was a bonus...

cant post pics here from my computer....

I got one in a 308 and as you say its not the prettiest rifle in the world. I shot my in and it is a tack driver. My number one complaint is the stock. It sucks for a scoped rifle. Had to put a after market cheek riser on it which makes it look worse but it does work. For me its just a utility rifle to carry while Turkey hunting incase we see a pig. It is a shooter though and the price can't be beat.
