Digging around in my shop, I found a stash of 25 cal, 100gr Ballistic Tips in the somewhat older black boxes with the gold label. I also have newer boxes of them with the gray label (also in black boxes). Is there any difference between these two generations of the NBT's (such as jacket thickness), other than the labels on the boxes?
I've used these with good results in my M77 Ultralight in .250-3000, but never in my .25-06. Was thinking of using them on speed goats out of my Ruger #1AH in .25-06 this fall.

Skee, I also have some pills in older style boxes and new bullets in current style packaging ,,,,,I just load a few of each and see if they group in the same place. But, I guess you could email your question to Nosler, I am sure they will get back to you.

We are currently on the 4th generation of the Ballistic Tip, with the latest edition having the thickest jackets.

Hmmmm. Sounds like I need to use the older ones for load development and save the newer ones for my actual hunting loads, after firing a couple to make sure the point of impact hasn't changed between old and new.
Thanks for the info!
Tim

That's what I would do.
The new one's are slightly longer, but they generally shoot in the same hole.
