Kimber Stainless Compact II or Springfield Compact Range Officer?

Any feature advantages or desirability of one over the other?

Thanks,
AJD

I believe you will be more satisfied with the Springfield , I have both brands and believe the Springfield is a better 1911 .

I've got a Kimber Gold Combat II something or other and have no issues with it. It has a nice light, crisp, short trigger and I sometimes cook off a second round before I'm ready while trying to speed shoot it. I have never had any FTE or FTF. Admittedly I have not shot it as much as I should.

I've got no experience with a Springfield.

I was also wondering if there were any differences in the barrel or ramp? I saw somewhere that a ramped barrel worked well with an alloy frame.

I know there are Kimber bashers on here, but honestly I can't say anything negative about mine. It's a fine shooter.

I'm kinda old school and grew up with wheel gun type ramped front sights on my handguns, so my thinking is all these three dot sights really suck. I always painted my ramped and blade type front sights with a bright orange color so I could pick em up in a hurry.

So I'm thinking the sight on the CSRO might be nice. Thoughts?

Thanks,

AJD

Thanks, I've seen that and enjoyed it. Got me to thinking about one.

Me too.

If it had Heinie Straight Eight sights and a checkered front strap it would be edzactly what I am looking for.
