Unreal all the wildfires burning out of control in British Columbia. Smoke was so bad here a couple of days ago the street lights were still on at 10 am, eerie to say the least!! The entire community of Hudson Hope was even evacuated.
Anyone else getting smoked/burned out?

I have a buddy who moved to south-central BC after he retired. Was talking to him the other day and could hear the water bombing planes flying over as we spoke. At the time he was getting ready to go and borrow a second generator since he was expecting to lose electricity momentarily. He said 2500 persons nearby had been evacuated. I think they have since been allowed back into their homes.
Scary.

Is BC in a drought? Are the fires being started by lightening or arsonists or Muzzies?

If being stupid allows me to believe in Him, I'd wish to be a retard. Eisenhower and G Washington should be good company.

An item I saw on the internet claimed at least half of the fires now burning were caused by humans as opposed to natural events.

It will get worst before better. Pine beetle harvest. I suspect that this is a natural cycle of growth, beetles and fire. Most of the areas I know in southern BC have passed the stage of dead rust red needles and are now standing dead grey trees. It would have been much worse IMO had they burned at the stage when whole mountainsides still held volatile dead needles.

Weather is usually the controlling factor in fires, the recent record high temperatures and dry weather have made all our forests a tinder box, rain is the only thing that will change that. Stupid people certainly add fuel to the fire.

I think you guys are like Oregon. We can burn a 1000 square miles and never make the news.
Burn 12 acres in LA, and the whole world will see 4 minutes of coverage on the nightly news.
Good luck and I hope the air clears a bit up there.
Yes, it's really a wind let up and lower temps that lets us eventually get them stomped out.
