So a guy I do some business with was raving about this thing - http://www.theorioncooker.com

Anyone ever use one? He says it is easy-peasy and works great.

Figured what the heck and ordered one to give a try.

Friends of ours had us stay with them for the 4th, during a trip to IL. He uses an Orion smoker - then transfers the coals to a charcoal grill to carmelize the BBQ sauce (only takes a few minutes). The chicken and baby back ribs were wonderful!

Well, the Orion got it's first workout yesterday - wish I'd have thought to take a pic or two, will do that next time!

Cooked a 9-10lb brisket, and about half of an axis backstrap, seasoned and wrapped with Jalapeo bacon! Brisket was awesome! Axis was good, not too dry or tough - was a big old buck, and all of the meat has been tough, so in comparison, this piece turned out pretty well.

We had company over, so pulled the brisket out and immediately cut it up. The pan in the bottom caught all the drippings, which were excellent served over the meat - no BBQ sauce used!

I will be doing some baby back ribs this weekend and maybe a couple of chickens halved. Looking forward to Saturday already!

I saw the first post and went to the Orion website and ordered the cooker. It got here last Friday and I cooked up some ribs in it. They were very good. Going to do some chicken on Thursday. Unbelievable how easy it is. Wish I would have bought it sooner.
