Ten days for the last minute, June 15th postmarked entries to come in is up tomorrow Sunday the 25th...I'll stop at the PO Box one more time on Monday after work to just make sure there are no more.

I'll get the results up ASAP after that.

Targets are looking pretty darn healthy. We got some Crazy Good shootin' kids around here! It's gonna be tough judging......

We have some last minute prizes donated by .260RemGuy...

Quote
1 each NIB CZ Model 99 .22 bolt action clip fed rifle.
1 each NIB Simmons 4x 22 Mag scope, blue, to go with the CZ Model 99.
2 each NIB Wenger Swiss Army Knives

A standing ovation for that is in order...Thank You Jeff.

AND, there have been some "anonymous" monetary donations sent with targets to cover the "cost" of the shoot. A total of 20 bux in all so far. There is no cost involved for the shooters to bear. Soooo I'm gonna match that $20 and divide the pot amongst some of you to pay on down the line.

Stay Tuned all...

Okay here are the entries I have received as of today....and today was the end of it.

These are in no particular order with regards to how they placed. Just confirming for you that I recieved the entries.

Group A
Flame
LeRoy
Ten-Thirty
Professor
Cuttie Pie

Group B
DDYsGRL
Combback
Rooster
ThomasP93
ShaughnAZ
Petie

I have some scary GOOD targets here to score, gonna be tough!!!

Note to all concerned: Since I opted out with my two boys to eliminate any suggestion of favoratism or bias on my part.....Do any of you feel it required I send these targets to a second judge for score confirmation? Just wanna make sure as I stated in the rules that I would do so but that was due to my boys competing initially. A second judge would add a goodly amount of time to this...

Thoughts? Majority wins....

I thought there would be more contestants. There must be more junior shooters out there. Best of luck to all. This is a win/win deal. It has really sparked an interst for shooting in Ten- thirty. We spent 5 consecutive Sundays at the range. Thanks WW: Allan

Roy,

1). I personally feel that your boys should be in the contest. I have read enough of your posts to believe that you did not set this contest up to favor your kids in any way. I trust you to do the right thing. If they should shoot the best target then fine by me. I hope it is not too late to include them. Someone else chime in and back me up on this.

2) How much did the PO cost? If you are out anything the rest of us will chip in a little more to cover it.

Guys...

I appreciate the sentiment but my boys and I gained far more from this shooting match than you imagine. It got YOUR kids to the range and got them shooting...honing their skills and taking steps in life to support OUR favorite pastime....Shooting Sports. That's all we wanted and all we needed.

We had a chat about it during one of our range sessions a while back. Jon my oldest is way ahead of me on size of heart...he said (while grinning), "Dad, I already got a rifle. Some other kid might need one. Now shut up and shoot!".

Besides it's a done deal. Scores are scored. Prizes are determined and a few Campfire Trophies are on their way to me courtesy of Rick Bin.

I have one favor to ask though...if your kids are outta ammo.....buy them some more!

Life is good.....

Here are the places and the score. I hope you don't mind me posting the scores. There were no ties, and the spread between shooters was far enough apart that I could score the targets simply by measuring the widest point of the group and using that. I didn't hafta get too technical.

Group A

First Place...LeRoy with a score of .526 inches
Second Place..Ten Thirty with a score of .877 inches
Third Place...Cutie Pie with a score of .902 inches
Fourth Place..Flame with a score of 1.389 inches
Fifth Place...Professor with a score of 1.724

Group B

First Place...Combback with a score of .790
Second Place..Petie with a score of 1.395
Third Place...Rooster with a score of 2.305
Fourth Place..DDYsGRL with a score of 2.426
Fifth Place...ShaughnAZ with a score of 5.434
Sixth Place...ThomasP93 with a score of 7.100

Awesome Shooting Kids...my hats off to ya!

Now before ya'll post anything following this, allow me a few minutes to post the prize situation and how we are gonna do it....

added: oops, forgot to type ThomasP93's name on the list <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/blush.gif" alt="" />

Some of these prizes were donated with the suggestion they go to certain groups. I took the liberty to assign them a little bit differently to make things a bit more fair across the board with regards to the age/physical size of shooters and their potential ability to enjoy their winnings accordingly. Everyone gets a prize for the effort they put into this match.

We will give the choice of prize down the list in the order of place won.
1st place gets 1st choice, 2nd place gets their choice and so on.

Prizes available to group A

Savage 64FXP youth .22 w/scope

Savage 64FXP youth .22 w/scope

Hunting Knife handcrafted by Ranger1 plus $10

CZ Model 99 .22 w/ Bushnell 4X scope and mounts

T Handle Skinner type Hunting Knife handcrafted by Ranger1

Swiss Army Knife plus Campfire Trophy
