I have gleaned the net for load data and studied it carefully. But I suspect the source in some cases. I do not have any manuals new enough to include this cartridge.

I have Universal, SR4756, and Win 296/H110.

I have 78 gr Lasercast, 85 Hornady XTP, and 115 gr Gold dot with CCI 500 primers. And 500 Starline cases are back ordered from Midway, due the end of August. (hopefully)

I am open to suggestions.

The latest Lyman cast bullet handbook has loads for the 327 Federal.

I load the 115-grain bullets to just over 1,200 fps and I am happy with cast bullet performance in several 327's.
I like Hodgdon Lil' Gun and 11.2 grains behind the Lyman 311008 will give me 1,220 fps from the 4" barrel Ruger GP 141 (GP100).
The same load runs about 1,240 fps in the 5.5" Blackhawk and it is a good load. At 25 to 50 yards I like 1,200 to just shy of 1,300 fps for smaller critters and cast bullets.
10.3 grains of Alliant 2400 will push the 122-grain NEI #82 bullet 1,292 fps in the Ruger GP141 and 1,321 fps in 5.5" Blackhawk. The NEI #76 is a 125-grain SWCGC bullet and 10.3 grains of 2400 will push it 1,330 fps in the Blackhawk. I prefer 11.2 grains of Lil' Gun for 1,287 fps in the Blackhack.

I'll be honest, I don't know how to post high performance load data for heavy bullets on an open forum. The Blackhawk and the big Ruger GP141 will take some "barnstormer" loads.

I Forgot the Gold Dot load. The good load using H110 is 12.0 grains for the 115-grain Gold Dot. Everyone seems to be using this load and it works in the light frame revolvers and the heavy frame revolvers. Any heavier load in the Charter Patriot and we have cratered primers slowing cylinder rotation.
This load will deliver above 1,240 fps in the 5.5" barrels and delivers better accuracy than I am capable of using.

What handgun are you shooting?
Someone smarter than me might make a comment on the use of light bullets at high pressure in the 327 Federal. I have thoughts of the 357 Maximum with the 125-grain bullets at warp speed and gas cutting on the top strap.
I am not shooting anything lighter than 100-grain bullets at high pressure. I prefer the heavier bullets but I am not looking for exit wounds on porcupine or raccoon as I am shooting up into trees or on the sides of out buildings. At this time of year - hot and dry - the raccoon and porcupine seem to want to chew on the sides of buildings and mess around in the well house.
I cant afford to have bullets flying around loose and our ground is hard and rocky.
I have a friend taking rabies shots after an encounter with a feral cat.
I sure enjoy the light weight .32 revolvers for walking around guns and the heavy frames for sitting and calling.

I have one of the new single sevens on order. 4 5/8 inch

At this time my thoughts on feeding it are as follows:

A 78 gr Lasercast at 700 fps over a light load of Universal should emulate the recoil of a 22 magnum quite nicely for the Grandkids and the Grandmas in the crowd.

An 85 gr XTP at 1000 would make a nice midrange load for more serious target work or ground squirrel use. And I intend to use the 115 Gold Dot at 1200 fps over H110 for duties which do not require the use of the 41 mag, such as pickup truck carry.

I figure you are watching all of these threads. Like all internet threads they start off slow but there interesting things in them.
