Everyone has a favorite firearm or three and often, but not always, they are manufactured by the same company. I got to thinking what my one favorite firearm from nine different companies would be and it caused me to wonder what some others might say when asked the same question. I'll admit many of my choices probably will not be others favorites but we are all individuals and that's what makes it interesting.
Here are the nine companies I picked and my personal choice for each.
Browning - 22 LR Auto takedown rifle Colt - Python Marlin - model 336 A Mossberg - model 46 M Remington - model 14 Ruger - model #3 rifle Savage - model 170 Smith & Wesson - model 29 Winchester - tough to choose one, but I'll say model 70 in an eyelash over the model 94
What are your choices? If anyone wishes to add another company please do so.

By far my favorite "company" overall is Ruger. Almost every gun they have made has been a hit. Choosing just one model from Ruger would be near impossible for me.
The original Ruger product (.22 pistol) is outstanding. The Blackhawk line (particularly the original Flattop .44) is unrivaled. The Model 77 is perhaps one of the greatest rifles ever designed. I also love the original .44 Carbine.
If forced to choose I'd have to go with the .44 Flattop
Other manufactures are easier.
Browning - A-5 auto Colt - Single-action (just edging out the 1911) Marlin - 336 Texan model Mossberg - 500 series shotguns Remington - I want to pick ther 870 shotgun, but the Model 14 is just too sweet Savage - No contest here....the Model 99 Smith & Wesson - Model 19 Winchester - Model 95....just beating out the Model 100
I hate change, it's never for the better.... Grumpy Old Men The more I learn, the more I realize how little I know

Browning - Citori Colt - Lightweight Commander Marlin - 336 Mossberg - No favs here, only one I own is a 16ga bolt action... Remington - 700 (from the era when quality was upheld) Ruger - No. 1 Savage - 99 Smith & Wesson - 657 Winchester - 70
I'll add: Weatherby - Mark V (Preferably German but had no issues with the Japs. Not as impressed with the current USA guns, sadly)
T/C - Contender (Pistol & Carbine)

I don't have a lot of rifles, 5-6 ,but my favorite in terms of quality is an Oberndorf (sp?) made Swedish Mauser in 6.5x57 that I sporterized myself. I bought this gun for $69 and have maybe $150 more in, not including the scope. I don't think it was ever fired. I don't think there is a non custom gun on the market that has a smooth an action and overall quality.
I like old double SXS shotguns and the Fox Steringworth and Ithaca NIB are my favorite. Probably better ones out there, but that is what I have.My wife's Franchi is pretty decent.

Dunno who made them, little help? colt of course! don't know who made em, but I want one! I think that the 16" gun tubes were made at the Naval Gun Factory which I believe was part of the Washington Naval yard. Here is a link to some big tubes being made. http://www.practicalmachinist.com/v...y/naval-gun-factory-d-c-1943-pic-192009/
