Just wondering if any of you have experience with this brand. I was looking at the Lowa Baffin and the Hanwag Yukon look similar and are lighter.

I'm wearing Hanwag Dakota's for my Wyoming elk chasing in September. I saw them for a good price on Sierra Trading Post and decided to give them a try. I've got over 100 training miles on them and I like them. Very well constructed. I haven't had them wet enough times to speak to the long term waterproofness but so far, so good. (I consider all boots to be "temporarily waterproof") Warning: Different sellers will sometimes list Hanwag sizes in Euro or possibly UK sizes. Just be sure to get your correct size. http://hanwagboot.com/pages/size-guides

I have a couple pairs of their "Mountain Light" boots, similar to what they call the Cheyenne now. My only beef with them is the D-rings are too flimsy and can be bent open if you're not careful.

I've been wearing some Hanwag Cheyenne's for a couple of years now. I mainly wear them for hiking, not as much for hunting. I'm pleased with them but everytime I wear them I think "I've got to get some insoles before I wear these again"....and keep forgetting. Good support, good fit (for me), hard insole.

I have used the Hanwag Alaska boot for a couple of years now, including my Dall sheep hunt in Alaska last year. It is by far my favorite boot, stiff enough but not too stiff for all around hunting use. Great boot IME, but boot fit is such a personal thing.

I bought a pair of the lightweight uninsulated boots (model??) a few years ago. I only got two seasons out of them - the stitching came undone. I got them restitched by a local show repair shop but that was a band aid.
They were very confortable but just didn't hold up. I am breaking in some Crispis now and have a pair of Zamberlans coming too.

I got a pair of Alaska GTX's a couple years back and I love them. I have a difficult pair of feet to fit and the folks at Hanwag made a couple of tweaks to mine that resulted in the most comfortable set of boots I have owned in decades.

I have the Atlas GTX and they are a great boot in my opinion. I used them in Alaska last year on a 2+ week trip and will be using them again in AK at the end of the month when I head north again. I had pouring rain literally everyday on my trip last year and my boots held up fine with no leaks. I use Obenuafs to treat the leather.
