wherever they are, they're hard to find. I have one model 99
EG & having new wood made. Called a bunch of gunshops,
& nobody in this area has any for sale. Put a wanted ad in
our local newspaper & we'll see what comes of that. Looks
like these guns may be a good investment (great way to
rationalize).

Add two more to the tally. I just stumbled across this thread!

I've got a 99F in 308 and 99EG in 300 Sav. Let a takedown model 30-30 slip thru my hands last summer because I was dazzled by the prospect of one in 358 Win that I really didn't have a prayer of getting. Still looking for that 358, though.

And two more - 1941 made 99EG in 300 savage bought new by my grandfather in original condition with redfield peep; and 1951 made in 308 win with low power variable "brush scope", my every day deer gun.

Steve,

Add 1 more for me, Model C 30-30 half octagon, half round 26" from 1902. Makes an even dozen for me.

It would be best to make a new post of your question vs. tacking on to this posting. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />

99-M was Savage code for monte carlo comb. Common to the DL.
Repost your question, give us a serial range and some details and we should be able to tell you a little more.
