In June 2012, my wife, son and I went to Namibia. Son and I both killed nice Kudu, but we disagree as to whose was biggest.:)

One had the following dimensions:
Right horn - 54.5 inches (138.43 cm)
Left horn - 54.5 inches (138.43 cm)
Right base 29.0 cm
Left base 29.5 cm .......Total score...335.36 cm

Other Kudu had the following dimensions:
Right horn - 55.0 inches (139.7 cm)
Left horn - 52.0 inches (132.08 cm)
Right base - 30.5 cm
Left base - 32.0 cm.......Total score...334.28 cm

We can both agree that 335 cm is bigger than 334 cm, but disagree as to the effect of the one 55 inch horn, which we both have to agree is bigger than 54.5 inches.

So, bottom line, what trumps what; longest horn or highest overall score??? Thanks, Al

Mine is home, his at taxidermist (still). I'll check pics of his. Memory is both pretty similar on spirals- if that's what you are talking about.

55" makes it "bigger". (Sorry, the longest horn takes precedence.)

Be Gentlemen and call it a draw. Sounds like a great excuse to go back and try again.

I am continually astounded at how quickly people make up their minds on little evidence or none at all.

Longest horn wins according to Rowland Ward.

Yip, has to be the longest horn. After all, its a 55" Kudu. The other bull is a 54.5" Kudu, so although the 54.5" bull scores better, it's still "seen" as the smaller bull.

Longest horn if scoring RW & total measurement if scoring SCI but why not just judge it on the quality of the hunt rather than simple inches.

Men are never gonna win whenever inches alone are discussed! LOL!

Totally agree with Shakari.
Those are both two fine bulls you guys managed to bag. Once again, congratulations!
How about some photos of the trip?

Dang, I guess the kid wins...at least according to you guys. lol
Would love to post pics, but don't know how. Son has pics on his cell that he could text me, and I could text to someone here if they can post them from that. We had a great hunt.
