I have no ties to the sale or interest in the gun but thought I would pass this along. I've seen a thread or two on here where guys were either discussing NM's or looking to buy one and thought I would give you all a heads up. http://www.gunauction.com/buy/12940...ational-match.like-new-.mfd-1949-c-and-r

Seller has been around for 15+ years....over 9,400 positive feedback and just 3 neutrals. Believe all autions have an opening bid of $.01. He does have a lot of nice guns.

I got the latest flyer from Rock Island Aresenal and they have a M70 target gun in the original wooden crate in 35 Rem. I'm guessing it's the same one as in Rule's book. My question is who would have ever ordered a target gun in 35Rem?

I bought a gun from this seller awhile back and had a good experience. He sells some high end firearms, he sold a Pre War Super 38 Match Target for $26K+ not too long ago.

Jack the dog has been around and continues to find some really nice stuff. I have bought several arms off gunauction which is the NRA sponsored auction site.
That rifle makes me drool, would love to shoot a xc with it.

...... My question is who would have ever ordered a target gun in 35Rem? A cast bullet shooter.
The 280 Remington is overbore.
The 7 Rem Mag is over bore.

Bob, you need that rifle... If only it were a 270
I try to stick with the basics, they do so well. Nothing fancy mind you, just plain jane will get it done with style. You want to see an animal drop right now? Shoot him in the ear hole. BSA MAGA

My question is who would have ever ordered a target gun in 35Rem? This is very curious. My thoughts are a full National Match course is 200,300 and 600 yards and you are not going to shoot that with a 35 rem. Most local clubs didn't and don't have much more than 100 yard ranges and there are targets and matches known as reduced course matches with simulated targets at 100 yards. This guy probably was shooting reduced matches but why a 35 Remington. Two thoughts are his hunting rifle was a 35 Remington and he was comfortable with it and had components and possibly cast bullets ready to load. Or, and if a 30 cal bullet just misses breaking a scoring ring a 35 cal would break that line and that might of been his thinking as well. I would love to know because it certainly isn't or has been a normal choice for a match rifle cartridge.

If he was going to order a crazy cartridge for a Natl Match he could of at least made it a 358 win.
the 6xc or dasher are nice ones too.

The things a looney will do, sometimes this, sometimes taking a Jaeger and a squirrel rifle and coming up with something that could kill a Red Coat officer at 300 yards. There's just no telling where it will go, or why.
