Anyone have any experience with one of these? Looking at one in 7-08 for my Daughter and Granddaughter. Looks like the only rifle on the market made exclusively for Women or people with a smaller statue. Lot of compacts out there but this one intrigues me.

Very Cool Fotis... I especially like that shooting bench from inside the shop....the Purple Stock adds a lot of personality to that Marlin Stock also...

I've heard good things about the Marlin also. Your Daughter looks right at home with that rifle.

A buddy just used a regular Savage and cut the stock down for his daughter.

A lot of the country we hunt is brushy so we have to use Hounds or Jump dogs a lot so a lot of our shots are quick. This is where good rifle fit and able to get on your target quickly with a well designed rifle and stock is very important. This is why I like the LH for women or small stature hunters. I know a lot of you don't use dogs but if you saw the country we hunt you would understand our need for a well fitting and fast shooting accurate rifle.

My wife has a Savage lady Hunter in 6.5CM. It fits her her fine, she is 5'2",the rifle is very accurate and the recoil is mild. She likes it a lot.

I think it would work very well, but my issue with them is that I feel they are overpriced for what you get. You can now get a Ruger Merican compact for half the price, or a Tikka compact for $150 or 200 less. My buddy's wife purchased a vanguard youth, which is also less, which I've been very impressed with.

Of the two you mentioned, the Tikka impresses me the most but that said, the reason I am looking at the Savage LH is the stock design. Being a retired gunsmith I built many custom stocks and I'm impressed with the efforts that went into designing the LH stock. Besides accuracy, I feel proper stock fit which allows eye to scope quick sighting is important. Also, good stock fit lessens felt recoil. I have a Tikka 7mm mag myself and must admit I like the Tikka trigger better than the acc-trigger. It is also deadly accurate.

Well, I think I'm going with the Tikka Compact in 7mm-08. I like the Tikka Triggers better than the accu-trigger and having to buy 3 rifles the difference will be 6 or 7 hundred dollars which allows me to put good Leupold scopes on them with DNZ mounts. Thanks for the input guys.

The biggest problem is asking a bunch of guys what ladies prefer. I've been married for 25yrs and still don't have a clue.
Most of us get our daughter or wife a cut down version of what we like. They use it OK so we assume it works. The women I've talked to who shoot a lot (not many) do like the ergonomics the stock savage is using. The Kilimanjaro Artemis uses the same principles. I wish one wasn't a savage and the other not so expensive. I have asked the folks at McMillan several times if they would make a stock like this and the answer has been no.
Weatherby stocks seem to fit women pretty well. At least better than most straight comb stocks.
Don't just be a survivor, be a competitor.
