Brother Dave and I were killing a cup of coffee, just a coupla minutes ago, while gawking at the Hunting Channel.

At the end of the segment, there was a piece on monitoring Whitetail numbers in I believe South Texas(had the tube on mute and was bullshitting, while gawking)and one of the means was a highly skilled pilot in a helicopter and a highly skilled marksman firing a net from same.

I figured it a great way to curb some traffic to the north,on our southernmost border. The Military good get in some good flight instruction as well as marksmanship disciplines.

Can't know how many a guy could tangle up in that webbing and then conk in the head,in a day's time but would have to think 25 doable.

Trophy Pictures could be taken post-conk and I believe there is much merit on many levels, for modest funds.

As skill levels progressed, the nocturnal roundups would become a breeze and I'd think capture/conk numbers would increase as well.

Thoughts, other than the obvious...in that it'd be superlative for unruly Canucks too?......................

I think you should get extra points for re-captures or should I say capturing ones that already have "conk" marks on them...but I guess that would depend on if a "conk" is terminal or not! If not a three conks and your out rule may have to be applied...

Once caught a tracking implant in the penile area that could only be removed through removal of said organ. this would help with the population problem and tracking of these folks.

It'd be interesting to know what Stick and brother Dave could come up with when something stronger than coffee is in their cups.

Bet it'd be entertaining. (grin)

I think it'd be cool to fly via harness off a belly hook of a Hughes 500,suspended below the ship's belly.

One could contort any which way for a good poke and with some goggles firmly affixed, the only eye-waterin' would be from the tears of laughter.

Good thing I ain't a rich man..........................(grin)

I think one of those monster "Sky hook / Sky Crane" helos would fill the bill , dropping those big purse siene nets( miles of it), maybe.

Anything smaller, and you couldn't keep up...to many of 'em.

In that volume, dropping the loaded net from a coupla hunnert' feet would subtend to a "Group Conk".........No?

Nix the "group conk"...............a 3-400 yd Drag through the mesquite, Whitethorn and Cholla Cactus should be more than adequate, and would get decent results. Certain losses to snake and gila monster bites can be anticpated, however.

You now get to Command an Air Wing!

The 'Crane remains my favorite heavy-hauler and I'm embarrassed to have been thinking about the good of my Country,on such modest terms. Grapples have an application here.

To paraphrase some of our finest from the sixties:

But, how can you "net" women and children?

Oh, you just have to lead them a bit less!
