It was a bittersweet elk season this year. Sweet because I shot my bull at 8:30 on opening day, and bitter for the same reason... I like to hunt elk, and now I can't wink Seriously though, I'm still on cloud nine, and got to share the experience with my Dad. It was priceless.

No, actually... neither the bull or I said a word. I was sitting over a wallow when he came in. There were a few bulls bugling later in the week, however. They should be fired up soon.

Nicely done. I have a grade-school buddy from back east coming out, I hope to be able to show him some bugling bulls.

Congrats on a fine bull. Understand your mixed feeling getting it done that soon. Gives you great opportunity to look at new ground or catch some of those big trout.

Thanks guys - I really hadn't planned on capturing it on the trail cam, but it worked out perfectly. Strangely enough, the last bull I shot was also captured on trail cam... but it had been set to video instead of still shots. It was pretty cool too.

I still have a bear and turkey tag to fill (should've had my bear last Friday), and need to scout some new country... so I'll be plenty busy. And, I just know it's going to happen; some trophy bull is going to stand at 30 yards, oblivious to my presence tired

Ha Ha Ha, I like that you hunt in front of the trail cam.

Kidding aside, CONGRATS on a nice BULL!!
