I don't think the pentagon is dumb enough to tell the press about EVERY weapon we have. We might have all kinds of fun toys that could spoil NK's playtime. I suspect that some of what's leaked to the NY Times is planted false info to keep the terrorists off guard.

They launched, or tried to, with total disregard to US threats. China could have stopped it and did'nt. How long before another try? Next week perhaps.

As good as our technology is here, we have failures. Their Taepodong-2 probably failed because they jumped the gun on launch procedures.

I just got back from a cookout/fireworks display at a campground down the road from my place. Every time one of the bottle rockets flew in a strange, erratic way.... I thought about North Korea<img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/cool.gif" alt="" />

There were failures with America's early missles also. We started out at White Sands, New Mexico after WWII with captured German V2 rockets, and then with a little help from Wherner Von Braun, started our own missle program. What I want to know is: 1. Did NK get the missle guidance technology for their long range missle from China? and 2. If so, does anyone recall that when Bill Clinton was president he SOLD our missle guidance technology to China. That technology was of the type that could not be released without some type of executive order. What it boils down to is that the president had to sign something in order for that to happen. All his advisors were against it and yet he signed it anyway. Am I recalling all of this correctly? That's the way I remember it anyway. Of course if our technology has been sold to people who now want to turn it against us, it will surely be Bush's fault. If I ever go into politics I'm gonna be a democrat. That way I'll be able to get away with ten times more chit than a republican before the media even thinks about saying something bad about me
