The last nine miles of the road is closed ( gated) to motor vehicles. Try the 300 rd to the mine, head of Moose ck, Haystack Mountain and The ridge to the west of the mine. The Wolfs keep the Elk scattered but they are there. Also many Elk and Wolfs in the Little Moose ck drainage. Most of this area I hunted on horses, but there's plenty of places to hunt on foot or vehicle.
