Hi, i was thinking - i want to take videos when i hunt. If i have a cam corder that zooms up to 50, it should take the place of a spotting scope? they both have tripods. and you can get a recording of what you are looking at. Also at the range, it should see wholes at 200 yards. and you would have a recording of it. I think the optical zoom on a cam corder is just as good as a spotting scope? and maybe even more clear? Please tell me what you think.
(might be a good deal as I've seen them advertized at $7000+)
ALso check out digiscoping with an internet search and you'll find lots of adapters for a spotter to mount a camera, then you can just use the scope as needed. There are even mounts for cell phone use, then no need for another camera.
Good luck.

Buy a quality spotter and then get a "Tines Up" digiscope setup. It's the easiest to use and uses a small point and shoot camera that shoots 1080p video
