Looking to sell my vintage Smith & Wesson Model 19-4 West Virginia State Police Commemorative Model commemorating the 60th Anniversary of the WV State Police (1919-1979). The revolver has a 4" pinned barrel, recessed chambers, a very high polish blue finish, the Virginia State seal on the right side of the frame and West Virginia State Police 60th Anniversary stamped in the right side of the barrel. It also has its own unique serial number (DPS-439) stamped on the left side of the frame, and comes in a beautiful wooden presentation case with the WV State Seal embossed on the cover, with a blue velvet liner inside.
The gentleman from whom I acquired the revolver had owned it for 31 years and described it as a "Safe Queen". Although there is present a light turn ring on the cylinder, the revolver appears in all aspects to be unfired. Even so, in fairness to potential buyers, I'm calling it "As New" although again, I have no doubt that it is unfired.
I had an e-mail correspondence with a gentleman who is retired from the WV State Police and described their long relationship with S&W. He claimed that all the WVSP Commemoratives by S&W went through their Performance Center and were all
very accurate handguns. So, take that for what it's worth.
