Here's a change from my usual mountain & canyon photos. This is a shot of rape grown in northern Idaho. Due to bad press from it's real name, it's now incorrectly called canola. Dick

They've been known to be in the area. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif" alt="" /> Do you remember a story floating around a few months ago about a wild turkey that had taken up residence by a cafe, then a hunter shot it in the parking lot, stuffed it in his car, and took off? You can see a town in the photo in the upper right corner. That's where the turkey incident happened. The cafe is about a mile out of town.

Here's a similar shot from Northern Saskatchewan. Notice the small stone church. This was taken near the banks of the North Saskatchewan River. SS

Here's one of our canola fields. The entire countryside is yellow right now.....the govt. says there are 2 million more acres seeded to canola than they expected. SamSteele, I'vee been by that spot many times over the years.

I used to go to Ministikwan a lot...now I only get away once or twice a year and we seem to head for either Keeley or Canoe.

We have a cabin at Pine Cove on Makwa lake and I grew up in Meadow. I usually make it as far as Waterhen even if I plan on going to Canoe. If I go far north it's to Pinehouse or Mawdsley.
