My back door neighbor just called me up to say he was in the Pat. outlet last night and they tipped him off that they are having a sale starting this morning. The outlet prices are usually approx. 30% off of the normal MSRP and this sale is gonna be 40% off of that. Guess I won't go shooting this morning after all.

Lessee................I wonder what they got......... <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/tongue.gif" alt="" />

Micro puff jacket
Capilene tops and bottoms
Fleece
Running shorts
Guide Pants
Capilene sox
Capilene boxers

Yow!! gotta make a list..............<img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif" alt="" />

Boy! you were conservative............... <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif" alt="" />

I found that they had some ridiculous deals so I got R2 jackets for $18 (bought two), Fleece vest for $25 (2) Micro puff p/o jacket for $38 (1) plus Guide pants (1) softshell jacket (1) waders (1) also socks, light + mid wt Capiline zip necks capiline boxers, yow!!

Almost bought a "Specter" (W/B) shell but although it was really light, it had little venting. (Still thinkin' about that one)

Oh well.....no new scope for my 6.5 this year.

Sorry E:

I didn't find out myself until I got the tip off. That was about 1 1/2 hrs before they opened up. (I wasn't quite first as I got there about 30 min after they opened) I missed out on some things that I've been thinking about, but they may not have had them anyway.

Jim,

I have been using the Spectre for several years now. 1st the pullover and more recently the full zip. It is the only shell I carry now. The full zip has a lot better venting but even the pullover wasn't bad.

Ed:

Thanks for the tip. They have another sale sometime in the late summer. If they have one in the right size then, I'll probably pop for it.

Gotta pay down the card for now........... <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/tongue.gif" alt="" />

BTW: If you haven't seen the micro puff p/o I know you'd love it. It is 12.8 oz. in an XL size. It's only about 3.0 oz. more than my Puffball vest. With Capiline under it and if really necessary a shell over it, I'd be feeling pretty bombproof.

Jim,

The wife has a micro puff pullover abd really likes it. I use a Montbell Themawrap parka for the same purpose.

So much gear, so little money!

JimF and EdT, swap the gear nomeclature for drug terms and it sounds like two addicts talking shop in a back alley!

But you're among your own kind, just to show the Missus I had "discipline" I went on a year long moratorium from any outdoor gear purchases. Lasted about 3 months, man that first piece of gear that rolled off the truck felt goooood. But as a binger, I made up for the lost 3 months fairly quickly.

I have a lot of neat stuff but as you boys well know it takes the purchase of approximately 5 articles of a similar nature before a guy can find one that's just sooooo. And of course a month later technology renders that gear obsolete anyway.

Yep you sound like two addicts to me, the reason I know is cause I read about all this in a book. (grin)

Randy,

When you have 40 spme packs and 65+ pairs of trail running shoes ( as I recently countd), you know you got wayyy more than you need. I have streamlined considerably and sold and gave away large amounts of gear recently. The money I made from the sales went into......

New Gear!

Ed T,

Hope you will allow me to introduce you to the missus, your 65 pair of trail running shoes makes my 6-8 pair of dedicated sheep boots seem quite pedestrian in comparison. (grin)

I don't think the number of sheep hunting only boots I have bother the wife as much as that I'm on the quest still for the perfect pair.

We don't even want to talk about how much different raingear I have and have tried. Well unless we're counting you and your raingear in the trials, there again my wife just might decide she married a sane one by comparison.

IMO&E it doesn't take long as a gear junkie to figure out from a guys posts how much gear and experience he's had with the stuff. I've had you and Jim F pegged for a long time as guys that have BTDT with gear and it's intended use.

That's not meant to slight others by exclusion I could come up with more names, but you boys was pretty easy to spot and that goes back to my first days at the Kifaru website.

Still hot for a Spectre based on your reco too, but I won't tell the missus where I got the idea. (grin)
