The two mile long winch really drives home the tomfoolery of the endeavor for me. No wonder hunters and ethical sportsman get a bad name. Included there was a pic of the bear being winched up that endless grassy hill, no truck in sight. Something about it fit the dark humor of all these s/m posts. Big deals, big hunts, big guns, big game, big winch, etc ....then usually a sad ending. Poor bear suffered all night. I know it happens, but it should be a humbling experience, not a hunt to glorify imho. At least he has the bear rug to remember the big fella by.
