I replaced the pics with scans don't know if you can tell anything more from them.
I have a 1935-36 California hunting license that too cost $2.00 and expired in June 30. Mine lacks the artwork and looks more like a standard license. June 30 is the end of the California fiscal year.
That's cool and interesting that the 29 license expired at the end of the year, but the expiration was back to June 30 of the next year, for 35-36. June 30 would also probably have been prior to any Gamebird/Animal season.
Thanks for posting the link Gary. So in 1929 you would buy the hunting license for $2. Then if you wanted a deer tag you paid another $ for a deer hunting license with a tag. The storekeep/cleark would likely write in the corresponding numbers before giving you the deer license.
So Rick I guess it would have cost $3 to deer hunt in 1929. would that be $41.73 today?
