With low Talleys worked fine on my Long Action NULA 338-06. This rifle is undergoing a barrel change and stock painting by Melvin Forbes. It will be a .270 with 22 inch barrel for my 16 year old daughter. It will wear the same scope and mounts!

Beautiful rifle, GF1. I dream of owning a Biesen stocked Model 70 one day. That scope is gone now. I have a 1.5-5 VX3 on the No. 1 now. That scope may stay but I don't see any other Leupold variables in my future. They are good scopes but I find others do the job better with constant/better eye relief, better glass, and often better prices. To me what sets them apart is their weight. They probably offer the best 12 oz scope at their price point. I can usually deal with a couple of extra ounces. If not, I'd be inclined to save the extra money for a Z3.

The tattered M70 in the front... 3o-o6w/ VX3 2.5-8. My buddy calls it ' The Frankenstein Rifle'.
I've seen more well-shot game lost with TSXs than any other premium bullet.
