For the money I have had good luck with the Simmons 22 mag AO 3-9X - you can get these for around $65. Get the "target" turrets if possible and the adjustable objective (AO) model. They have tracked well for me, maintain zero, fog proof and they are very clear.

I've got a Weaver Classic K4 on my 10/22 and love it...should be able to find a used one for under $100...new ones run about $150...

The Nikon 4x32 Prostaff Rimfire is a fine little scope for a hair over a C-Note.

Mueller makes a nice rimfire scope for the $$.....
Biden's most truthful quote ever came during his first press conference, 03/25/21. Drum roll please...... "I don't know, to be clear." and THAT is one promise he's kept!!!

How about a BSA 22 Sweet? they look good. the warranty is good. what is the weakest point of them? As the magnification goes higher - is it clear? It doesn't describe the glass or coatings ... Mainly mentions the turrets. and are they accurate??

Lack of quality in the BSA unless they have made great strides since I bought one. When they first came out my gun shop guy pushed them and I bought a couple on his recommendation. Both failed quickly. A 6-24 had the erector lens fail and a 3-12 had the crosshair turn from a plus sign to an X. Never again for me.
For $100 or less look at Hawke, Mueller, or Simmons. The Simmons .22 mag is a pretty tough scope with mediocre glass. My last purchases were a Hawke Sport HD 3-9x40AO for $75 and a Nikon Prostaff 2-7x32 rimfire for $140.

I have a Bushnell Trophy 1.75-4X on my Remmy 581. Sometimes you can get them on sale for $65 or so at Ntachez. Before that, it wore a Banner 1.5-4 for about 35 years until it got fuzzy from me cleaning it with my T-shirt.
I've had good luck with the Trophy and Banners on .22s. Bushnell red dots, not so much.
What fresh Hell is this?

I didn't mention them since they are not parallaxed for rimfire ranges, but at low power that is pretty much a moot point.

What year did you purchase those BSA's? I put a new BSA 2-7x 32mm on my 10/22 in 1999 and it's still going strong. It was inexpensive and I figured on replacing it in a few years with something better. Turns out that I like it and it's gonna be there for a while. It's just a plain Jane 10/22 small game and plinking gun and for what I do with it that scope works well enough for me to do anything I'm gonna do with a .22. Admittedly, it could have better glass,(all my "serious" hunting optics are Leupolds) but as long as it works I'll keep it on there.

Burris FFII with Ballistic Plex. They had them on sale for $150 with a $50 rebate. Absolutely the best .22 reticle and scope combo ever.

I don't remember the year but it was right after their introduction, and I didn't mention that I got one of the 2-7s also. It still works, but I pulled it and put a 2-7 Nikon on the rifle. So the bottom line is that I am 1 for 3 with BSA.
