It probably won't help, but Ernie Derr was a heck of an IMCA driver from Keokuk back in the 50s, 60s, and 70s.

Im not that far North but can honestly say the deer population is really low. Your outfitters probably arent gonna say this. Our Gov't has greatly reduced deer tags and shortened the seasons across the province. I know you guys pay insane amounts $$ to hunt here and would say if this is a once in a lifetime thing...I'd wait till the population spikes.
Cheers!!

I got an e-mail from Dan Goodenow , he is one of Jim Shockey's guys and he said the herd is down and they are thinking of not hunting their property for the next year or two, and they were going to re-evaluate at the end of this season. I am going to re-evaluate my hunt for 2015 I might head in a different direction, my nephew shot a real good buck in South Dakota this year. I will wait to here from markopolo 50 also.

I'm originally from the Meadow Lake, SK area but now live in Alberta. I haven't hunted SK since I moved, but the deer populations are down here as well. Really tough winter on them it seems. There are still deer around, but you have less choice and those that are around are much more wary.
Seems like the Mule Deer have done a lot better around here than the Whitetails, although MD are on draw and WT aren't. I did get a small WT buck last night, but we only saw 10 WT's in a couple hours compared to 20 MD.
