Hello all, my second post here and if this topic was covered before I am not aware of it. Today at a local gun show there was a nice 99 EG model on a table for sale. It was normal in all ways except for the safety. It was extended forward almost even with the trigger. It looked professionally made, by that I mean the second tab looked like the original but was slightly smaller. It how ever was welded to the tab of the original safety, again very professional looking work. My question is, was there ever an after market extended safety offered for a Savage 99 rifle? Did Savage offer them?

No, I don't carry a phone. I've been thinking more about this and it doesn't seem that having the safety that close to the trigger would be a good idea safety wise ,especially with gloves on.

Have never seen that one. Suspect some talented gunsmith made the mod.
