Anything's possible,..but they're going to play against some serious competition as the season rolls along,..and they can be beat.
A quality team that can play a good zone defense and hit the 3 can give a team problems,..and Kentucky is going to see a lot of zone defenses this season.

eh, people said that UNC would go undefeated a few years ago too. They'll eventually slip up to somebody.
This UK team is quite good though. UVA, UNC, Dook, and Arizona appear to be strong. I think Kansas will bounce back from that humiliating defeat as well.

The KU team may go undefeated - unless someone asks them to read a science/math book or write a college level essay.

It will be interesting to watch. There are some good teams out there, and plenty of time to study UK to identify their weaknesses. The platoon game itself might lead to a defeat if Calipari sticks with it. It doubles the odds that the team can have a bad night. If platoon #1 performs poorly and he has to stick with platoon #2, it could lead to infighting because not all 5 in platoon #1 will deserve it. Then, if platoon #2 must play more than 25-30 minutes, fatigue might set in.
It's a long season, and they're very good. They might even win the national championship, but odds are they will lose a game somewhere along the way.
A good question: If you were a coach, how would you game plan against UK?
Steve.

2-3 zone defense,..try to keep the ball from going inside. On offense, set screens and try to get open looks at the basket from 3 shot range. Kentucky has too many bigs for a team to try to go inside against them either on offense or defense. To beat Kentucky, you have to make them shoot from the outside and hope that they miss. Even then, you're going tp have to rebound the ball against a pair of athletic 7 footers. Not to mention that Kentucky has some very good shooters. Basically, to beat Kentucky, Kentucky is going to have to have a bad night,..and that's entirely possible. It's more possible early than later in the season, however. Somebody might catch them snoozing early in the season,...but when the tourney starts getting near, they'll get the eye of the tiger,..and it's going to be fun to watch this year.
