Looking for a moderate-priced trail cam (less than $150) for use in the woods on trails or scrapes in north Ga. Been looking at Browning Strike Force or Dark Ops. Any opinions on these or similar cams? Thanks

Cabelas has the Browning Range Ops XR on sale this weekend for $59.99. I'm picking up some today as the one I've used has been excellent. Other cameras are on sale there too.

I've had several bushnell hd cams in service for 5 or 6 years now. No failures and great pics.

Range Ops XR on sale at Midway for $79.99 right now. Thinking about getting it to replace the Primos 46 that just crapped out on me.

I purchased Browning Strike Force this fall. In the past I have only used Moultrie and have been pleased with all of the Moultrie trail cameras. First I should clarify that my primary objective is to get a picture day or night that I can use to determine what animals are in the area and their patterns. The Moultrie was set on a hillside beside the Browning for test. The Moultrie caught more animals than the Browning. The reason is that the sensor of the Moultrie picked up more elevation than the Browning. On level ground this is not a consideration.
The day time pictures of the Browning are very superior. The Browning has a deeper flash area for night pics. The Browning gives slightly better detail in night time pictures. The Moultrie is more sensitive to movement of weeds, branches. and snow. Rain gets on the lens area of the Browning but not the Moultrie. Water on the Browning lens area does dry and only affects pics while wet. All tho the Moultrie takes more pictures at night, it seems to have a slower lens speed and there is more blur from deer and coyotes walking past the Moultrie camera. Since most of my pictures are at night I prefer the Moultrie. If majority of pics were in daylight my preference would be the Browning. The only real objection I have with the Browning is minor. The scan disk is very hard for me to removed due to my fat finger tips and short finger nails. The major problem I have with the Moultrie is the desire the cattle on the farm have to lick the camera's front and move and tilt it. I have hundreds of pics of cow's tongues, noses, eyeballs, ears and teeth. It can be tilted easier than the Browning.

I picked up 2 Wild Game Innovations different models for under 80.00 dollars. Only used 1 thus far and like it. I only got to use it for a fall bear hunt in Ontario but it worked. Hoping to get out late season for deer and put one of them out for a couple of days.

Those always work and almost forever. I won't buy any other brand.

Your not taking family photos. If it goes off when its supposed to shown time and date and doesn't eat batteries like a fat kid eats twinkles, it'll do. I'm running a black brick of a moultrie that's 3rd hand and nearly 15 years old. Works for me. Long range, say 40 feet, close in and moving.

The Brownings are good cams. I'm running 3 Brownings, a pile of BTCs, and a pile of WGIs. The only issue I've had with one of the Brownings is alot of white pics when placed in a thick area. That said, they are not like the white pics on the WGIs where you see nothing at all, you can actually see the deer in the white pics on the Browning.

Midway and Amazon show this as $183 to $200. And at 1.2 seconds, the trigger is almost twice as slow as the Browning. Is the rest of the quality enough to justify paying more than double?
