Picked up a 700 ADL in .308 and wondered what would be needed to convert to a BDL. It looks like I can use the follower and spring and would only need the box and floorplate/triggerguard. Is this correct?

And a stock. Not worth the expense and trouble to me. I'd just as soon have the ADL and use the money for better glass or more ammo.

ME109 I'll probably start a pissing match for saying it but here it is. In my own experience with hunting weight barrels the ADL's will group better than the BDL's , stiffer stock. Been the case for me,just another consideration. Magnum Man

I prefer ADL for hunting rifles. Never had a problem with them in the field.

I forgot that ME109. Forget getting a replacement mag box for a few bucks, just go out and purchase a milling machine.

You [bleep] tards are impressive. He didn't ask if it was a good idea, what shot better etc.
Just what was needed.

Best I can tell is a whole bunch of folks are giving out no interest loans for 9 months and smiling about it.
I'll take some of that.

I am trying to put a rifle together for my son and get him something nice without breaking the bank. I went elk hunting for the first time last month and enjoyed it so much I want to take him next time. I also prefer blind magazines but bought a .308 in ADL config and want to ditch the stock. An Alaskan Ti makes the most sense hence the need for the bottom metal. I ordered the Timney yesterday but it looks like most places I know of are out of the matte triggerguard/floorplate assy.
It also sounds like the ADL box will work but is taller than the BDL version. I would just spring for a new box.

You can buy a "BDL" stock for that gun here or gunbroker for ~$50. Also, call the folks at RedHawkRifles.com. Then you can turn around and sell the "ADL" stock for about the same. You can buy the bottom metal (trigger guard and floorplate) here or on ebay for between $50 and $75. You'll need a front action screw if it doesn't come with the bottom metal.

Just what was needed. Don't recall seeing a 1-response thread in a long time. But I'll try to repress in the future. Sometimes I get a little keybored happy....pun intended.

I just put my box on a grinder, a little at a time until it fit.
