When I grow up I want to be just like Don! Being bald, deaf, half-blind and pot-gutted is no way to go thru life, son....

Looks like nice hunting weather too. I tossed the vest and gloves off to the side outta the pic....But yeah, beats Montana for weather.

I'll let you do your own calc's on ball size, mathman. The May Skipjack is for size reference/scale.

Gorgeous buck.
Apparently you didn't learn about 22-250 ammo's universality either. What a shame, coulda made 20+ pages. (grin)

That's a whale of a buck, Huntsman!
Don't know what else would happen, but you quit Copenhagen & you could probably buy a ranch! At least if you go through it like most folks I know.
Love the mass on that buck...and that pistol is too cool.

huntsman; Thanks for taking the time to share your hunt with us Don and congratulations - what bases on that buck! I really enjoy seeing the ranch photos that you, Sam and a couple others here share too, so please continue on doing them if it's not too, too much bother. Thanks again Don and all the best to you this winter. Dwayne

Danged if I didn't see another one in the same place this morning. I grabbed the glasses and climbed the bluff and watched him bed down on the neighbors to the north. He wasn't as tall, but wider, even, and just as heavy. I'm going back up after bit and see if he's still there. Also saw 7 muledeer does on the south end.

I'd be curious to see what the cup weighs when you de-gunk it. 48.3 with gunk. Lets call it 48 even, huh? Nice. Then it wouldn't be a stretch to say that the 6.5mm 120 NBT is roughly 50% jacket and 50% lead, give or take a bit. Fairly good for a cup/core. I found about the same when I recovered a cup from a 168gr .30cal BT a few years ago. The lead came out when it stopped against the hide.
Now with even more aplomb

Who's the young dude in the hat? My stunt double. You musta had some eagle-eyed handsome young man spot it for you too, like the antelope buck.
