Nice job on a thick woods buck. Thanks for sharing with us. I am jealous of the snow. We didn't have any this year for our deer hunting. I will say a little is good, a lot can be a major hindrance.

The snow was great, and we have snow up there more often than not from early- to mid-November on. It sure makes it a lot easier to figure out fresh sign with a fresh layer of an inch or two of snow almost each day. It also makes the drag out of the woods a little easier.

MJ59, good luck up there this last weekend!

Good job. Sometimes your plan works when everything else is perfect for the chance making it the memory to last a lifetme. Plus a partition recovery, no small feat.

Thanks guys... ihookem, the camp is in Newcomb, NY. We are a few miles north of the village of Newcomb, and tucked right into the high peaks.

Awesome story and great pics. Partitions only fail when the nut behind the trigger put them in the wrong place...

Foss, Great ADK buck. I've hunted 5 ponds and Cranberry Lake. As others have said any buck killed there is a trophy.

They say everything happens for a reason.
For me that reason is usually because I've made some bad decisions that I need to pay for.

Great story! That right there is about the only thing that makes me want to go back sometimes.
