A bud of mine is thinking about a new whitetail rifle and this Kimber has thrown a mild craving on him. Any experience?
Thanks, RS

Kimber 84 Classic = SWEET
.280 AI = SWEET
don't know how sweet + sweet could = suck, but I'm sure someone around here can make the equation work?
No experience on the former, but a little bit on the latter. Would LOVE a Kimber 84L Classic/Classic Select/Super America someday...

I've been looking for a Select in .270 or the Ackley with a stick of walnut that makes me want to reach for the folding money.
Lots of stocks leaving Yonkers with way too much sap wood.

I recently got lured in by this one. No range report, but I thought I'd share. Kimber 84L = Sweet 280AI = Sweeeet Stainless = Sweeeeet Nice Stick of Walnut = Saweeeeeet I like the montanas too, but I like bottom metal and checkering, so this was a logical choice.

BTW.....the 30-06 with 150's is everything a 280AI is with 150's but cheaper but less cool

I've only seen the stainless select in 270 thus far. But yours is a no-brainer! If I ever run into one of those.....it's mine! Great buy.

This might be a silly question and I don't mean to hijack the thread... Does Kimber use the SAAMI spec on their 280 AI? BP

A "You suck" may be letting you off too easy in this case. I'm really digging that rifle.

My LGS has one in '06, and while it ain't as pretty as the one pictured here, it is still a beauty, and feels just about perfect in my hands.
Unfortunately, I was there to pick up something else I had on layaway.
Like I need another rifle.....
What fresh Hell is this?

Thanks Steve. This one is a plain Jane classic select stainless. No AAA wood, 'upgraded' wood, French walnut etc... I don't understand how Kimber labels these, but there seems to be some variation in them. I'd be nervous ordering one without seeing it, but they all have their own character.

Like I need another rifle..... Like you don't! You are on the wrong site if you are looking for any type of agreement to your statement.
