My Son-in-Law and I just ran a short test of 3 powders for cold weather changes. 160 Accubond in his 7 Mag. 3 cartridges of each powder were loaded, with one of each put into the freezer for 2 hours. Air temp was about 95 degrees, the freezer under zero. The drill was to fire the two air temp. shots 1st and last, with the cold one in between. Each group was fired as about as fast as he could feed another cartridge in and get a sight picture, with time off between groups for cooling. I was walking to the freezer after the cold ones(20 ft. away). All loads were between 2850 and 2900 fps. H4831SC was first up. The cold shot was actually the fastest of the group by a few fps, with the 1st air temp shot being the slowest. Next was RL-22 and then Ramshot Big Game. Both showed over 100 fps slower with the cold shot.
While no attempt was made for tight grouping, with the exception of two holes, all were in the same group of 1 to 1 1/4". The two out of the group were low, one about 3/4", the other about twice that. We didn't keep track of which shot went where, so don't know that the two low shots were from the cold rounds, may of been driver error.
Now this a very limited test, and the temp. difference was extreme, but I believe we'll be loading with H4831 SC. YMMV of course!
