Dunno about a tool, exactly, but I know Windex makes these flat-packs of premoistened wipes, which are handy and recloseable; I carry a pack in my truck, and they're always ready when I need to scrub the inside of my windshield.

Just use one of those micro fiber towels. Works great and you don't even have to get it wet. Simple.

My wife has one of these in her minivan and loves it. I'll have to try one in our mini-van. It takes an arm with 3 elbows to get at it.

Newspaper works great. It's getting at it that's the problem. I'm not as limber as I used to be.

We have one of those wonder tools, also. Great. You can get right down into the corners and the whole bottom edge. And the microfiber pad really works.

I hand my wife a roll of paper towels and the Windex. Usually, within six months, the windshield gets cleaned.
The tool works, just sometimes not very quickly.

My wife feels that her hand is very effective. She is wrong.

Laughin' here!.......I use my cap, too. Ah, the Faithful Redneck windshield cleaner. I'm guilty of that too.

Products intended for household glass cleaning don't work very well on inside surfaces of auto glass, especially windshields. The crud you see on your windshield is residue from the evaporation of the vinyl in your dash. The vinyl gives off fumes and they collect on the glass.
I have tried almost everything I can think of and have not come up with anything that beats automotive glass cleaner, ( there are several brands, one's as good as another) and newspaper. Newspaper is very finely abrasive and very absorbent. Towels, paper towels, etc all have chemicals in them that produce streaks.
You might have to go over your windshield three or four times the first time you try this if it is really crudded up. Then, a onceover every couple of weeks should do it.
