Had the pleasure to meet him and play opposite his act in the Pittsburgh area many, many years ago. EG was an unique talent and piano player - owned a most recognizable style and could generate strong rhythmic drive - one fine player, and always have enjoyed him a ton.
He did not possess the technical abilities/training and phrasing facility of OP or the improvisational mastery and fluency of AT but, then again, those guys did not do some things that Errol did so well.
