Hey Wes,
What's up in Kingston this coming weekend? A gunshow perhaps? Guess I gotta consult GUN LIST. At the Matamoros PA show yesterday saw two "99s", both priced at $995.00, one an "F" model in .25-35. Looked original and not screwed with. Too rich for my blood.

Yeah..I noticed the bolt when I was cleaning it. It has been altered for scope clearance. It came with a Weaver K-4 and the side mount. The front ramp is a sweat-on. The barrel is Chicopee Falls. Thanks for your assistance. Tis a nice light handling gun.

Wes,
The M-20's are nice handling. Can't wait to get mine back from the 'smith. Someone bubba'd the front sight on mine to the extent it shoots very high.

Yeah..I musta been born too late or something, <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/frown.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/frown.gif" alt="" /> All the Savage guns from that time frame seem to fit just right. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/cool.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif" alt="" />

Following up on an OLD thread-

Any chance this rifle could have been re-sold through Eastern Branch Firearms in May of 2010? A 99EG 300 Sav, S/N 621686 sold there, and this S/N is out of sequence enough to warrant determining if this is the same gun, IMO. The LBC on the rifle was also 3D.

Unfortunately Wes passed away in 2009, so I'm afraid a definite answer probably isn't forthcoming. The timing is probably close enough that it could have been his.

I've got copies of Wes's factory letters here but nothing from him that high, mostly all pre 100,000.

Sad to hear that. I lost my dad in 2011 and that's the reason I have all these 99s...he was a serious collector. When he died, a lot of information went with him, along with a lot of good stories as well. I'm sure it was the same with Wes.

I think it is a safe assumption that this was the same rifle, so there's no need to think there were two that far out of sequence.

I bought one of my 99-H's from Wes. My FFL guy said he was surprised to find a big bag of garlic in the box when he opened it up. He wasn't sure why or for what purpose it was there. Wes grew different types of garlic and had just sent samples.

Maybe he wanted to keep the vampires away from the 99H.

Several years ago someone posted a 621686(LBC3D)and I wrote it down as early52. It may have been Ron T but I can't remember nor the gun it was on.
