TC1...you have some of the finest guns imaginable...and you like the impressed checkering? <snork!> I am not a big fan myself, but something about that stock always fit me well...and I must be the only one...everyone else hates them ( usually...) X-VERMINATOR Those rings are ( or were) marketed as Remingtons...I forget who really made them, but they are excellent rings...a bit heavy though, and non-PC so I have since switched to Talley Lightweights...so as to continue being accepted at the 'fire...

Have you tried any lighter bullets, such as 40s in the 222? The Hodgdon manual shows some 3500+ fps loads.

I have shot some 40 gr. BTs...you are right, the rifle loved them! Seems to favor the 50 Vmax the most, though its hard to tell.

I picked up a 1976 760 06 a couple of weeks ago. I went Weaver B&R and Denver Redfield 5 Star 2-7. The SOB shot Fed Fusions into an inch
