I am trying to get of the fence on a rifle purchase. Found a Sako Finnbear for a good price but the stock is cracked, and will need to be replaced.
Was wondering if anyone had any thoughts on this patricular model McMillan.
Thanks for the help.

I'm hip on the handle.
I drive one on an L61R based 338Ultra.........................

Thanks Stick. How do you like the L61? The one I am mulling over is 30-06.

Superb platform,if weight isn't a dire concern.
The 'Hunter will only accept a #4 contour, which my Ultra happens to be,at 26".
Wearing that handle with heavy-ish fill,1" Decelerator,twin flushcups,Leupie rings and a 6x42,it crowds 10 lbs.
'Course,that was the impetus....................

I had one on a model 75 ss/syn 7 mag and was very happy with it. I have two coming from Rick with the "edge" design, I'm sure they will put a smile on my face. For me the 75 hunter patterned stock fits perfectly.

It's superb... I have one that I swap out on two AV actioned Sakos - once you've tried the palm-swell, it is hard to go back to anything else ..............................

The Sako Hunter is my favorite. This one wears a #3 Pac-Nor in 7 Rem Mag.

I have a Sako Hunter in 375 H&H that has worn a McMillan for years. A friend this year decided to do the same thing to his and had Rick paint it as well. Describe your rifle carefully we sent a couple of stocks back and forth prior to getting the correct one. I do want to say that Rick was very helpful in getting this sorted out and that's why I recommend this place so highly. Anyone can sell you "something" it's the service after the sale of if something goes wrong that is EXTREMELY Helpful.

I own 2 of them. I really like the way they come to your shoulder. They are full in the grip and very comfortable to shoot! <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif" alt="" />
